Hi all
I would love some advise. I'm a glutton for punishment. Just gone from a Jaguar XJ8 sport. Which I loved:crazy: too a 2000 4.0 P38 and know bugger all about them. Well not much  anyway. So I want to get it remapped/chipped etc. Can anyone tell me the best system/way I should go about this. I drive the RR every day as I did the Jag. Not interested in racing around just want to get the best out of it. I have read about Tornado systems. Can anyone throw me a bit of advice. I live in Berkshire by the way
Cheers
Kevin

Hiya.. there are a few threads about remaping on here if you use the search on the bar at the top and put " Remapping lets sort it" its a thread i started and after everyone calmed down about it we got some good info have a read.... but with a 4.0 surley its quick enough..

Thanks for that. your probably right. It was just me reading different things and just getting bombarded with stuff I know nothing about even lpg conversion. I was the same with my Jag but I do enjoy the learning curve :crazy:lol
Cheers

Well my freind if this is your first Range Rover you are in for a very sharp learning curve! But on the plus side we are here to help.. Its like one big, slightly inbred, very disfunctinal family here!! :);)

Remapping a p38 is very expensive. Mark Adams is the only one I'd trust, however you won't see any noticeable difference. It will have a better fuel map. Basically all of the noticeable improvements you can make, heads cam inlet trumpets exhaust plenum will add up to a fortune and will work better with a richer mid range fuelling so chipping as well.

Better to start with a 4.6. Sorry but it'll never outdrag a standard 4.0xj :mad2:

First thing to learn is don't bugger about with it. Just getting running as well as it can and leave it standard. Enough problems in that mode without adding to them.

Rebuilt my 4.0 with tophat liners and Kent cam very pleased pulls away quick and accelerates good been in car 2 years now and makes me smile every time I go out in it. Not had any problems no warning lights no gremlins but then I have no sunroof so no swimming pool in the boot.
