Thats Bollocks

Hi gents

Thought i would share this with you all.

I had my 2006 3ltr vogue remapped yesterday by a chap from Doncaster Called phill( business name is ECO PERFORMANCE, i found him via Google.

Anyway for the princely sum of 200 pounds he came out to my house and plugged his magic laptop into my RR.

I now have a car that is so much more responsive and he sais is about 2010 hp now rather than 177 hp.

On my 21 mile journy up the motorway i also got an average of 37mpg compared to the normal 30 mpg.

As you can imagine i am a happy chappy:)

Thats MPG of the dash computer which tells lies after a re-map. Do a brim to brim check and find out what you arre really doing, oh and start saving for your new gearbox.

funny that!

and theres me thinking if the engine is using alot less revs when driving normally then you are burning less fuel? HMMMM:rolleyes:

Obviously if you drive like a dick head with your foot to the floor then you will burn more fuel.

The only way to get more power from an otherwise unmodified diesel engine is to inject more fuel. Sad as it may sound that's the way it is.

re-mapping facts for your info

What is ECU remapping ?
When we remap your ECU we are fine tuning the program that deals with engine performance and management. As well as producing greater power and torque we also deal with drivability problems at lower rev ranges such as flat spots, turbo lag and hesitation issues giving the engine more initial torque making a more responsive and enjoyable drive.

How much more power or BHP will i get from the ECU remapping ?
No two cars are the same so no two cars will have the same end result, we will give you the most BHP that we can give you safely but as a guide you can expext to get an increase in the region of

Non turbo petrol or diesel -10-15%

Turbo petrol - 20-30%

Turbo Diesel - 20-40%

Will the ECU remapping damage my car ?
The plain and simple answer to this is no. We never use generic ECU remapping files. We will always make a custom map for your vehicle and we never sacrifice the reliability of your car for a few extra BHP's.

Will the ECU remapping affect my warranty ?
We do not install any detectable software into your vehicle. If you still feel apprehensive about taking your vehicle for any warranty or service work with your remap file installed then simply bring your vehicle back to us and will will remove it free of charge. When the work has been carried out bring it back and we will re-install your remap file free of charge as many times as you wish.

.

Do I Have to inform my insurance company about the ECU remapping ?
We are not advising you not to inform your insurance company about your remap but this process is undetectable by any diagnostic equipment. Over 90% of insurance companies will not add any extra premium if you do inform them so the decision is yours.

If I have specific tuning requirements can you help ?
Yes, we can remap your car to your specific driving style or needs, whether it be more torque for towing, more power for off-road use or you just want more MPG then we can help.

How long will it take to do the ECU remapping ?
To complete, the ECU remapping process should take no more than 1 hour for remapping through the diagnostic port, but it is usually much less than this but please allow upto 1 hour.

If my car has an automatic gearbox can you still remap it ?
Yes, we can still remap your vehicle even though it has an automatic gearbox. It does not affect how we remap it or the end result.

Does it make any difference if my car has higher than average mileage ?
No it makes no difference what your mileage is, your car will still benefit from a custom ECU remapping session.

My vehicle already has some modifications can you still remap it ?
yes, ,just let us know and we will work with you to give you the very best, from your custom remap.

What is the likely effect on fuel consumption after the ECU remapping ?
If driven in a sensible manner you will benefit by an increase of upto 12% in your MPG. If you are going to use the power more often and drive the car faster then obviously your consumption will drop, as it would do anyway.

Is the ECU remapping reversible ?
Yes, it is totally reversible and if at any time for any reason whatsoever that you would like your car returning to its standard settings we can do this for you as we keep a copy of your original file on our secure database. We would not charge you anything for this service as long as you bring the vehicle to us.

Yeah seen it all before. But a fact for your info. The ONLY way to get more power from an otherwise unmodified diesel engine is to inject more fuel. And that IS a fact. You think what you want to, the remap may give more linier and progressive fueling and save little if driven like a nun but if you use the power you WILL use more fuel.

I Think i already mentioned that if you drive like a dick head then you will use more fuel because your reving the bollocks of the car.

however under normal driving you get better MPG.( NOW THAT IS A FACT).
And its normal driving i was talking about! ie, my first post mentioned the better fuel MPG i got on my daily commute to work.:D

OK under those conditions driving carefully you may gain a couple of MPG but nothing like what you quote. As i said earlier the only way to improve torque and power is to inject more fuel. In the bumf it says the remap improves turbo lag, get them to explain to you how it does that. I am not trying to sell you anything just telling it as it is.

If the gearing is the same, how will it be using less revs? Does a remap magically change the gearbox ratios or remap the gearbox ecu?

Oh and it's throttle opening not just revs that dictates the amount of fuel going in, 2500 rpm fully loaded going up a steep hill will use a lot more fuel than 3500 rpm on the flat with the wind behind you. A remap will give you more fuel for a given throttle opening so although your foot is not so far down you are still shoveling in more fuel.

A concept that a lot fail to grasp Keith. Where does he think the extra 33 bhp and extra torque comes from. As for the turbo lag, more fuel at lower rpm, bigger bang, more exhaust gas, faster spin at lower revs. Turn the wick up on a paraffin lamp to get more light, it uses more fuel. Simples.
