Grayston's agree that a pair of assisters on the back only (NOT the front) will really help control turn in body roll so I will have a measure in the next few days and get them to specify what I need.

Let us know what the spring gap is and which model no. you get.
 
GE15's now delivered.
Now I've got to find a big saucepan to boil them in!!!
They need 10 minutes of boiling to make them flexible but my wife won't let me use one of her kitchen pans. :( :(
 
First mistake. Don't ask. Either tell her what you've done. Or wait till she goes out. I managed to fill the spare room with a disco interior And roof lining when she went to tesco!! Got **** for it but knew she'd say no. Wait until you use a tea towel to dry oily hands they go nuts!!!
 
She'd already read the instructions :(
I'm not sure I want my dinner to taste of rubber either.

Maybe I'll call in to our local tip this morning as they have a shop so might have something I can use.

This does of course apply to a LOT of things when you sit down and think about it...



You should see the things my missus cooks up in my saucepans.. She doesn't moan about what I drag home into my spare room as she has a spare room of her own that is chocka full of boxes of hats, sunglasses, baby clothes, wedding veils and other things she flogs. She does moan about my three American metal funeral caskets lying around my house. Thinks they're unlucky. Daft bint...
 
The tip came up trumps with a fine collection of saucepans to choose from and it was free!!

Not sure if I'll get them fitted this weekend but I will report back as soon as I've got them sorted.
 
Spring assisters fitted on Saturday and everything's positive.
Even allowing for the psychological effect, the difference is substantial and it feels much more stable, with no tipping into the corner.
It's no sports car obviously but feels far more pleasant to drive and my wife was impressed for once.
No doubt it will be less good on gnarly tracks or bumpy fields but it still feels pliant enough.
 
A few hundred miles down the road and I am made up with the assisters.

Although it obviously still rolls, there isn't that sense of tipping into a corner and it feels much more stable. My wife is still impressed - enough to say we should ultimately go for a newer and better 4x4 when we change so a much newer Freelander or even a 3 litre Range Rover are on the cards.����

Not yet though as I've just bought another bike so no offers of cars for sale thanks.��
 
You wont be hurrying a 3ltr RR round sharp bends :eek:
Did you look at getting a small diameter bar bent up and clamping it to your existing ARB to stiffen the roll ?

I've yet to drive an RR so may end up disappointed. Mainly want decent performance as the old K series is a bit sluggish in the cut and thrust of rural Sussex driving but scared of V8 running costs. Otherwise thinking of an X5 (sorry for the blasphemy) as it needs a high noseweight limit to carry my off road bike on a rack.

The spring assisters were only £33 and took less than an hour all in to fit so they were a quick, easy and very cheap job.
