Yep, you're right.

Veg oil duty rate is 48.35 pence per litre, as it classed as a fuel replacement.

Biodiesel must eet EN14214 specification in order to attract the 28.35 ppl duty, otherwise it is also 48.35ppl.

Not trying to sell you any Mondo :p , trying to get it into haulage companies, councils, forecourts etc. You will probably be using it next year anyway, the Road Transport Fuel Obligation comes in in April next year, that means all fuel suppliers have to supply 5% bio minimum in their diesel. Some already are but just don't declare it. En590 diesel can include up to 5% bio but doesn't have to be declared as a blended fuel.

Mind you Mondo, if you fancy a 30,000 litre tanker of Bio, give me a shout :D

People are misreading it.

You can now MAKE biodiesel up to that amount without registering or paying the tax, but nowhere is there any mention that you may use it in a road vehicle on public roads without paying the tax.

Si I think I can make it for generators and tractors without any bother, but I think it's still needing taxed if I shove it in the Disco.

it woun'nt be worth worth using in gennys and tractors though would it?

last red we had was 38p, you cant make bio for less than that can yer?

maybe if ya use old chippy stuff.

Yup redhand is right. Home produced biodiesel needs to conform to the same spec as the stuff you can buy in order to escape paying the full duty. That website is very misleading.:confused:
 
Biodiesel costs me about 20 p a litre to make.
That is about half the current price of gas-oil as red diesel is called.

Using free USED cooking oil doesn't mean the biodiesel is in any way inferior.

Once it has been processed properly, it's biodiesel, and that's that.
