They come off when I was going threw water whilst laning so no chance of any of that happening and whilst accidents happen we are not all perfect.

The motorist who finds them with his tyre (i would think bolt is still in it sitting up like a spike)or the biker who gets thrown off because of hitting them with their tyre will be impressed by your stupidity in forgeting the nuts!

Bit harsh mate?

I commute 150miles per day by motorcycle and having close ones having to avoid lumps of crap on the road is tiresome
What you consider a harmless mistake can kill or maim a biker
Did i mean to offend no, did i wish to show my disgust yes
I ll crawl back into my cave now

Then surely the concept of riding something that only has two wheels and can be twarted by a small object is flawed?

What's the difference between that bolt on the road or rock of similar size? I can imagine it's pretty tiresome dodging all the flotsom on Britians roads- bore off!

I've used big U-bolts as recovery points, either put a nut either side of the bumper or just lock two nuts on each end of the U behind the bumper, use 8.8 grade, hopefully wont crack and pull off but equally not made of cheese, if you get like M16-18 U-bolts they'll be plenty strong enough and you get a wide opening for feeding ropes through and quickly hooking hooks onto

If it counts for anything I'm a biker myself so is my father and have never have to dodge anything to cause harm. My father rides to work everyday and has never moaned about debris on the roads more likely the potholes and oil is what you need to worry about.

can anyone who's clued up confirm that these ubolts aren't dangerous? cos they feel dangerous.

also i think you want em on the reenforced bit, not a 2mm bumper with no crush tubes.

really not a good idea
Ht steel used like that can fail instead of deforming first
You can demonstrate this by getting a m16 bolt and brake it by trying to bend it
What im trying to say is those u bolts are strong on a dead straight pull but any lift or drop on the pull could cause failure

Clive I dragged a fully loaded (rubble and rain) 6 yard skip 30 feet using the recovery eyes you welded to my rear crossmember. I must say I was very disappointed when I saw the paint on them had been scratched - lol. No worries about those bending or tearing through. Could not use the towbar as it was away being powder coated at the time. Hope all is well with you?
