Couldn't find via a search so could anyone tell me the best type of recovery points to fit when I have a standard soft wraparound bull bars fitted to my 98 Discovery Mk1.

I'd like to keep the Bull Bars but was planning on removing the fog lamps and front valence. Do you know whether I can fit a steering guard along with the bullbars or Jate Rings?

Alternatively, can I just attach a rope to the bulll bars or do I risk ripping them off?

Thanks,

Phil

You'll risk ripping the bull bars off ... steering guard with eyelets for jates is the way to go...often cheap ones for discos on fleabay..

What a speedy reply - tks. Figured it might be the quickest way to remove the bullbars:eek:

Happy enough to purchase a decent steering guard with recovery eyes but was wondering how to get one fitted along with the bull bars as I imagine they are supposed to be fitted to the same locations on the chassis?

I had a decent alloy one fitted when I used to have a defender - I still have the shackles somewhere!

Not a disco owner but normally these guards fit quite flush to the mounting so you may have to remove the arm of the bullbar, put the guard on, then put the arm of the bullbar on again..then tighten the lot up..the shackles will fit if you still have them.
