I hear the pro range are very goodDoes anyone else recommend this set? They're 50% off at Halfords right now and I'm about to jump at it.

My friend bought a "Professional" Halfords socket set a few months back as he literally has no tools at all. I was not impressed at all with the quality. 2 of the bits broke. I was not exactly doing things which were ridiculously tight either. Luckily I had my £16.00 Sealey socket set which I have had for years and that didnt struggle at all.
I also have a (non-professional) Halfords socket set...which really is superb, has coped with doing things that it shouldn't too...perhaps I was just unlucky with the recent. My favourite socket set though is my Elora...thats a very well built bit of kit, have a set with metric and imperial. Slightly pricey though!

Absolutely they are real beauties but you pay for it.Teng tools are good, they replaced afive year old breaker bar no probs although it had obviously been abused.I like to collect old spanners at autojumbles and farm sales as its handy to have some to grind, weld,or cut off for hard to reach jobs.Quality tools last alifetime if they dont get nicked!if you have used snap-on/mac/britool you might think differently
teng arent that bad either its the only ratchet ive ever had that i aint managed to carrot the fookin 3/8" drive lug off yet but stay away from the halfords telescopic strong bar its like fukkin lead and they say you cant break a snap on 3ft strongbar me brother did swingin off it while the car was up on the ramp bar shattered half went through the roof some bounced over the highstreet and the socket stayed on the hub fookin lethal but strong **** and they replaced it on the spoti use mostly snap on stuff but then again i am a pro mechanic, you could try teng or facom as they are mid range tools.
