Those look like super winches, are they knock off chinese stuff????

From what I understand, they are Kingone winches that David has customised (by Kingone, I believe) to make them completely waterproof.

I think his website has more info... Let me see if I can dig it out...

Here you go:

"We are pleased to bring you an exciting range of world class, unbeatable winch products. Our range of TDS imported winches are manufactured by the Kingone Industrial Co. Ltd. to a high specification with a long list of great features, some of which are exclusive to us, at an affordable price."

Is the UK Superwinch different to the US Superwinch, then? I'm sure I read that Superwinch winches were made in China and that some are also rebranded Kingone winches...?

USA super winch are US and UK super winch are uk,(formerly Fairey Winches) Now Warn winches are china made.

They are not coping any ones winches or stealing the R&D from a quality product, from a quality company........... Them goldfish are pirates

A lot of British winches are made in China , the work force is cheap , but they are British designed and strictly supervised .....shame really that this country can't build it's own , I'm sure we've got the talent and the workforce , but I guess if you can get your product made to your own design specifications for half the price ...then it's a no brainer :(

Warn, superwinch, champion(now warrior) and kingone.

All the above buy most if not some of there winch components from abroad, be it China, Taiwan or India. Dont kid yourself into the made in the USA/UK thing anymore. In order to meet market demands and be competitive companies need to farm out the work abroad where labour is cheap and where components are the minimum acceptable quality.

Its the way of the world now.

Superwinch winches are made to their own specs in china. Goldfish winches are also made to their on spec in china. The reason these winches all look the same is there all made at the same factories.

You cant say goodwinch copied anyone the same as superwinch didn't or warn didn't. They get a brochure from the manufacturer, the body is the body, you dont get a choice in that. Its the internal parts you get a choice in(sometimes)

Warn wins,

I have a modded warn 8274 on the front and a warn xd9000 waiting to go on the back.

these are what I don't like

Warn Contaminated water with bronze-colored substance

Conclusion
The Superwinch made the most work happen on a given amount of electrical energy supplied. The Warn model was faster than the rest but demanded more electrical energy than our test arrangement could supply, so it depleted the battery and ceased forward momentum halfway up the hill.

Results
Brand Results Motor Temp (deg. F)
Bulldog Stopped pulling with 16’ 8” of line left 146.0
Engo Stopped pulling with 22’ 4” of line left 151.8
Superwinch Stopped pulling with 8’ 2” of line left 218.0
T-Max Stopped pulling with 40’ 3” of line left 138.0
Warn Stopped pulling with 57’ 1” of line left 91.2
(Summit Racing, Harbor Freight, and Kodiak models inoperative)

The part about using so much battery power:rolleyes:

But each to there own, but the water issue and too much drain on battery would steer me away from warn

Yup, that supports what I've been reading. The newer Superwinches, both for the UK and US markets are definitely manufactured in China.

My money would still go on a Goodwinch because David Bowyer's reputation and knowledge is second to none.

Both of mine have bin very deep in water and pulled me out and work fin still,

The 8274 the free spool should pop out at 8000lb to protect the winch mine has been drilled and pined as I have a bigger motor,

I use mine alot more than most people if you look after them they will be ok like anything
