roadblock

New Member
Hi,

I'm a newbie to the forum having just used it to look up fault codes provided by Green flag after calling them out. Let's just say that you guys provided far more useful information than they could.

The fault codes I have are P1667 and P1672. I had an alarm activation caused I thought by a low battery. After changing it all was fine for about 4 days but now the car will not start and previous posts tell me I need a Becm sync and that it could be £800 at a main dealer! Apparently there are people on the forum who can carry out the procedure for considerably less so..... ....can anyone please recommend someone locally who could resync the old girl for me? She's been in the family since new and has rarely let any of us down.

Any help gratefully received.:crutch:

Hi Palace,

Forgive my ignorance. Can a re-sync be carried out with a nanocom? I have only rovacom and autologic listed. Could you PM some details?
Thanks

£800 for a resync...time to find another dealer/garage....feck that.

All it is is the BeCM and the Engine ECU hold a sync code that needs to be the same in both before the engine will start.

At times either the BeCM or the ECU forgets the code, so a resync is needed to read the code in one and put it into the other.

A Nanocom will do the job, as will the Blackbox Solutions SyncMate (about £90)....

Either case, I would have assumed a dealer would charge you half hour on diagnostics to resync for you....£800.....tell them to fecking go take a jump for that price!

If no one else can help you "Rick the Pick" lives fairly close to you, but I've no idea how much he would charge you to come to your vehicle.

Try pm'ing him and ask.

Thanks for the info guys. I avoid main dealers like the plague! Will follow up your info and let you know how I get on.

Many thanks for the help. I have now located an auto electrician 12 miles south of Gatwick (all car electrics) who specialises in P38's! Booked for Monday.

And a word of advice if they say the BECM requires repairing, they'll probably take it out and send it to "Rick the Pick" the man is the "BECM Repair God" (who lives around the Brighton/Hasting area) and just happens to be a member on here.

Hope all go well.
