Contemplating rebuilding my 110 pickup so just trying to get a rough idea of what it'll cost. Obviously there'll be a massive variation on cost depending on what you've all 'rebuilt' but would still be nice to know :)

It'll probably be in the summer as I have no workshop, just a carpark at the side of our house.

Just trying to get some inspiration, ideas really...
Anybody got a total of what they've spent?

noo chassis from £1250 to £1800 depending what you get where yu go. allow another 500 quid, for wear & tear replacments. then whatever you spend on toys etc.

Yeah, I new the chassis was gunna be the expensive bit. Worth doing properly though!
I can see Aaron's viewing this, I'd LOVE to fit a cummins lump while it's in bit... Beyond my mechanical/fabrication skills though...

How much of that was the vehicle, Aaron?

Think I paid £3000, but can't remember exactly.
But some stuff was sold to get some money back.
Plus I had about £1300 in decent panels which was a big chunk.
Mines a funny one to be honest, can't really give a complete break down without going though it again, just knew the total.

When you start to dismantle costs rise fast :p.

You don't have to go crazy to spend 8000 pounds !

FFS Minty is reading this.. & I've told her I can do a complete rebuild for less than 2k. Behave yaselves will ya..

Just done a few quick calculations to give you a better idea, brothers td5 90 I'm rebuilding at the mo is currently under 1k in bits and obviously plus chassis.
So a good job can be done on a budget, main thing being the condition of the vehicle.

If I'd have kept all the money I've spent on fixing her I could have rebuilt her haha! That's the reason I want to do it, fed up of chucking money repairing, rather just do the job once and for all... Well it's a landy so that'll be next month...

Exactly, that's why I just like doing it all in one go :)

You can spend as much as you want. I bought mine as a CAT C write-off for £1.5K then the costs never seemed to stop. In the end, I spent over £4500 on parts which included a new ashcroft gearbox. At the end of the day, do it properly and you'll end up with a vehicle which is almost new. It gives you a huge sense of achievement to finish something like this. I wouldn't even sell mine for 10k as you somehow get attached to your car when doing a rebuild like this and nothing can pay back the time and effort put in.

My build has come to about £4k, but that included a recon transfer box, dual tank system and replacing some stuff that just looked tatty but still worked. I reckon if I did it again I could get it below 3.

If you can do it it is a great achievement, though kiss goodbye to your free time for 6 months!
