I know it's an old thread but that suits my question - how is the engine going? Problem sorted with no overheating since?

How much did Hallbeck charge and what did they supply?
Were the liners glued in? Did they hae an o-ring seal at the bottom?

Cheers,

Nobby

Hello Nobby

The engine never overheated, just pressurized the water system, I never let it get to the point of overheating.

Engine is still excellent 9k later, doesn't overpressure or or loose water/oil. Running on LPG most of the time, mixed driving. Towing 400mile trips.

Hallbeck where really helpful and to be truthfull the best price vs quality around at the time.

Your best speaking to Mark regards the tophat o-ring, as I am presuming they where interferance and pressed in with sealant/glue.

Thanks for the info. Am hoping I might get away with a head gasket job, but am preparing for the worst....

Already worked out that Hallbeck prices are reasonable - is reassuring to know that the service and quality are also good.

Cheers again,

Nobby
