Just after some advice regarding rear work lights.

Seeing as I now have the entire headlining out (fixing sunroofs) I was wondering whether to add an additional light to aid with coupling the trailer/ unloading the trailer in the dark.

I really don't like drilling holes in vehicle, especialy this high up but I like the looks of the rear work lamps I have seen and the only other options are removable ones which are a bit of a faff when your in a hurry, and gutter mount which I'm not too fussed on.

Guessing it's a simple job of running the wires from the rear over the roof and down the drivers windscreen pillar, through the gromet in and out to the battery, with relay and switch to dashboard?

Whats the best ones to go for? - Anyone tried/heard of these:

I was thinking LED due to the low draw of power. - But I know some LED lights can be very poor, and I don't always trust the manufacturers/sellers pictures/what they claim their product can do.

I have also spotted these:

Has anyone used one of these? any good?

For mounting without drilling holes, have a look into a gutter mount for CB aerial.

Have you thought of fitting a single roof rack bar at the back of the car, then fitting any lights you want to that. You're still going to have to drill a hole to get the wiring to them but it could be one hole and you can mount whatever you fancy; extra brake lights, indicators, work lights etc. If you want to be really smart you could even fit a waterproof plug & socket outside so you could take the entire bar off when you want.

I have thought of this idea after seeing somone else do the same thing but someone else mentioned it wasnt a strong setup..?

I must admit, fitting a roof rack has crossed my mind, but the Landy is a tad high as it is, without adding extra height (Although I wonder how much the "Highlander" woof rack (stop those annoying auto links) will bunk it up by) I got to be cautious due to some stupidly low height restrictions in the area, but it's an idea I'll keep in mind! - Time to start doing some research! - I'm liking the idea of a waterproof plug/socket - shall definately keep that in mind. - Anyone got/know anything about the "Highlander" woof Rack?
