if you mean , i connected the batterie and the window dropped 2 cm thats all
When battery is reconnected, the window should drop right to the bottom. To calibrate it, the ignition is then put on and the internal switch used to put the window back up again.

Did you change the motor with the window mechanism? Inside the motor is a hall effect sensor which tells the CCU how much it has moved. These can fail and so the CCU is still confused. If there's nothing physical obstructing the window dropping fully then I would be looking to substitute the motor. Also check the wiring and connector through the door hinge as they can break.

Nodge; the window doesnt drop,
andy. no i havent change the motor, the wiring must be ok because the window goes up and down all the way with switch- key- or doorhandle, only by 2cm each time, ok for the sensor story, ill try to find an other motor, thanks

no , i ordered only the regulator because the motor was going, i didn't knew about the hall effect sensor

have you checked the door handle switch the glass should drops down to clear only , it think thinks the door is open and causing the problem

Your problem is that the window doesn't drop when battery is reconnected so the CCU has no idea where the window is and therefore does not allow wiper to work.

If the wiper motor hall effect sensor is not working then the CCU will not get the correct signal and may not drop the window.

As Nodge says it is unlikely, but possible! that it is the CCU. Much easier to change motor first.

in the mean time i did the thermostat solution with the gates one, thanks for that nodge,
took me one hour to get the thing into the ,,small,, hose but now the engine warms up like it should

You're welcome, but full disclosure, I didn't invent the mod. I believe it came from the Rover forum, where owners of the Rover 75 (same engine) had the same thermostat issues, and it's just as long a job to fix, so someone came up with the in line mod.

no matter i found it here with your name and its a very good solution, the heating in the car is very ok now, still winter over here,

bonjour, as you said i changed the window motor and every thing is ok, also the wiper goes, but
no washer, i ll take a look but thanks for that,

Great news. Must have been the hall effect sensor then. This can be replaced with a £3 item if you don't mind soldering. I posted how to do it a long time ago.
