Annoyingly I cannot find the parts diagram right now, but I needed to order up the grommets and big flat nut for my rear wiper motor. I looked at my parts diagram and ordered what was there.

Part numbers from Paddocks shown below. This may not be from my parts catalogue but will be the equivalents i was re-directed to.....where is this bloomin diagram.....

2x grommet (one inside and one out) AMR3932
Plastic washer AMR3933
Flat nut AMR 3934
M8 nut NH108041L

The grommets have a slit in them to side within the bodywork, but as my diagram, i would have expected one flat grommet either side

But main issue, AMR3934 is too bit! I assume there are more than one type of motor? If so, any ideas what the nut part number would be for a smaller spindle?

Ah ha, its the last diagram I used to get the nut, washer and grommets from, so that would explain why they don't fit....I have a G reg 90!

But I haven't seen a diagram showing the equivalent parts for the older style. I'd hope I don't need to buy a whole new motor just to get the grommets and nut? Even then i'd be surprised if the replacement motor came with those parts?

That's annoying if I need to buy a whole new assembly!

Any benefit going for an upgrade and getting a new style one?

Or, do you know the size of the nut required for the old style and I could just 'make' it work? I think M14 maybe, assuming conventional thread?

I have one at home which I intend to refit to mine so I'll measure it later and let you know.

I seem to remember it being quite a fine thread

Any luck with the nut size and thread?
I'm guessing it's an M14 (M16 too big and M12 too small), or it could be imperial. No idea of the thread though.

I'm wondering if it's more likely an electrical grommet nut. They are really thin and fine thread. Down to 1.0 I've found today. Normal fine M14 is 1.5 I think...

Apologies for not replying sooner. Had a short illness that I wouldn't want to describe in detail on this forum! But believe me, a lot of toilet rolls were used over the past few days!

Anyway, the thread on my windscreen motor is actually 18mm in diameter with a thread pitch of 1mm. The smaller one seems to be a standard M8.

Here is the full motor so I'm not sure if your is the same?

18mm... that's much bigger than mine! I think my spindle is around 14mm, though I should really take calipers and a thread gauge to it!

Looks like a 'normal' thin nut though. I'm struggling to get a hold of a really thin nut like the one that came when I ordered the wrong parts.

I'm not concerned about the grommet though, i'll easily get something together for that, its just this nut that's the issue!

Dunno if this helps but I've just done this job. Parts used on a 1995 Defender were:
AMR -3676 motor. Don't get a Br*tpart one. I did. Mistake.
- 3932 seal x2
- 3933 washer
- 3934 nut x 1
NH108041L M8 nut x 1, although I didn't actually buy that- any M8 nut will do.
and an arm - they're different from the front ones. LR033006/PRC4276 or 8558 I think. LR Workshop is my "go to" place to check parts numbers too.

THanks for the reply. That's all the parts I ordered up for my wiper motor, but the nut (AMR3934) is way too big. Chat above would suggest I maybe have motor PRC4612. And there don't seem to be part numbers for the nut here
