A simple quiery..

The rear wiper will not stop when the dash board switch is turned off, neither does it stop when it automatically comes on when reversing. Only way to stop it is to stop the engine.

I've swopped the dash switch in an effort to solve this but no change. Anyone else had the same problem?

That sounds very much like a problem with the automatic parking switch on the wiper motor.
I'd guess that the switch is permanently made, either because the switch contacts have welded themselves closed or there's a problem with the actuator which acts on the switch.

It parks up properly, but only when the ignition is turned off. The wiper motor has been changed along with the dashboard switch - now I'm baffled.

might be sticking relay, the only problem is that the relay is built in in the interior fusebox(IDM) and you can't remove it or swap it with other the only way to rule it out is to swap the whole fusebox ... it's plug and play you just have to turn ignition on pos II and leave it so 5 minutes after the swap to te-establish the datalink with the BCU

just to clarify,
1. is it reacting to the delay switch on the stalk?,
2. it keeps running even if younpush the wash-wipe switch?

cos even worst it can be a BCU issue too

Just an update....

It could be that the problem was linked to the passenger door lock - Mine wasn't locking, but not unlocking with the remote fob. Now I've changed the door lock the rear wiper is working as normal? Bizzare!
