Well that's it it would seem that it has finally given up the fight and stopped working. Typically just two weeks before the MOT's due. I've checked all of the wiring, relays and fuses which are working, however I've stripped the motor and nothing obvious would appear to be seized, this said I'm not really sure what I'm meant to be looking for to be honest and would be grateful if someone could advise.

Assuming that it is indeed buggered, does anyone have a good used one for sale to fit a Defender 300tdi, happy to use a TD5 and just modify the wiring loom.

Thanks guys! :)

Didn't think the rear wiper came under the MoT.

Mine hasn't worked since I got her, mainly coz I haven't wired it in ... One day maybe ;) ;) ;)

Lazy sod :p :D

I thought the new ruling was 'if items are present then they must work'. My fall back plan was to going have me remove it in the day of MOT and just stick a grommet in its place.!

Check the earth cable inside the black rubber tube between the door and frame. Mine looked fine but when I pulled it it snapped. The opening and closing over the years had snapped the core of the wire but not damaged the sheath.

Mine passed it's MOT today and the rear wiper hasn't been wired in since I bought it - no worries. I might sort it one day but never felt the need.
