Another question, recently finished the rear interior with trim panels and carpet, put a MUDUK rear door card on, but realised the next objective may not work. No rear wiper at present, so assuming the large moulded section is where motor would go. However, new locking system meant the positioning was slightly lower. I guess a wiper motor will be a pig to install, without hacking the door card to bits. I have rivnut and bolted the door card to the angle brackets, so easy peasy to remove in as I knew i'd be taking it off every now and then and also good to check gas strut once in a blue moon. OEM motors seem bulky and the circle cut out where the plug is just hits the door card. Any tips? Worst case I will just cut out neatly as I did for the other bits.

Also, cannot move the door card up or down as the gas strut position is different from factory and the door lock.

The wiper motor is easy to install. The moulded section in the door card doesn't seem deep enough to house the motor under it though. I can take a pic of mine tomorrow.

Is that a Puma rear door? My lad's TD5 rear door is beyond saving and I'm thinking of fitting a puma rear door. I haven't paid a huge amount of attention to the back when we're out in it - is there actually any need for a rear wiper?

Hi Mick, thanks for the post, you're right, its a PUMA style rear door as the other two as it's better for anti corrosion, however, being a complete numpty i realise I've ordered the wrong door card for a pre 02 defender, forgetting the landy is but the door isn't ha! Perils of working day shifts and night shifts. I'll leave it for now and buy a puma style rear door card at a later date. I agree though, not much need for a rear wiper in all honesty, just hate it being unfinished. Sounds like a nice landy he's got. thanks for the post.
