Hi all, I'm new around here but have just picked up my first Defender CSW.

It has a rear window washer fluid sprayer, but doesn't have a rear window wiper. Is this normal, or was the rear wiper removed at some point?

Just seems strange to have the sprayer but no wiper.

Any ideas?

What year? It may be the door has been replaced at some time for series type that would not have a wiper as standard. Is there a hole below the window for the spindel ?

+1 Sounds like the door has been replaced. I've replaced two rear doors and had to drill the wiper holes both times. Sadly, you obviously won't have the wiper motor/mechanism either.

is there a spare alloy wheel on the back. I had to remove my wiper to fit mine on, as the alloy clashed with it.

during it's life, someone changed from steels to alloys and when the wheel wouldn't fit they left it in the back!

I suppose I should have posted this with photos from the start, but here we go.

The idea of the rear door being replaced with a non-wiper door probably does make the most sense. The door does seem to have a box to cover up where the motor should be, but I suppose that could have been kept from the original door.

Intriguing.... I want a rear wiper!

A new door doesn't come with door cards, so they would have been swapped over from the old door. The box section certainly is the motor cover.
