SPACE TWOT
OK I know I'm a rockit enginear but even i has problems ;) ok so my rear bit jammed and i could not open the friggin door:mad: so after giving Porky a good kickin i disconnected the battery ,this normally sends the window down [nuffink] but now i could open the rear door ,but glass was still up  so ignition on and pressing window down switch [beep friggin beep] I know the door latch is working as i can hear it clicking when i pull the rear handle. . . . . .continued on next thread so as my phooter don't crash and i write a full page only to find out it ain't saved :D:D

so i took the rear panel off, took out the four screws holding motor to the gearbox to the regulator[bit that drives the stainless wires:D] and pulled motor away just a tad [so spleen is free] cut the two wires that drive the motor blue/black and blue/green and with a spare 12volt battery flashed the motor [a clunck could be heard] note just flash it other wise it will spin around [its not held] now carfully reverse polarity of battery to drive tother way and again flash it ,you now need to line up spleen [ fidderly job] then screw back all motor parts and re apply 12 volts and drive it down ,then up ,at this stage i applied graphite grease to the runners also at the point where glass is attached , put connectors and make good cables . another test then put everthing back together. . . . .:)

ok it now works just fine. . . . .Mings conclusion , the stoopid LR engineers have incorperated a pulse dtection system . . . .ie no pulse no worky, probably as a fail safe device in case something jams , this is also how they do the little kick to seal the door also to un seal it [there is no switches] but thats anothe subject and proberbly to complicated for most of you Earthlings :D . . . . . anyhows its my thought that like myself ,i never raise the tail gate up or down, the motor seizes in a certain possition [hence the clunk ] and not the cables, [not always the case] so it pays to drive it up and down now and again, so who ever invented this stoopid system needs a good kicking :mad::mad: any hows hope this will help sumwun :):):) i'm orft ta pub

I think all electromechanical (is that a word? If not it is now. I rather like it..) things should be used at least once a week. As it is I drop my rear window when doing garage work so I don't have to keep opening the bloody door to get stuff out. I like the feature, and until I unblock the rear vents (as in this: Freelander - MISTING OF INTERIOR WINDOWS - REAR VENT - Land Rover ) then it helps when driving along. I'm also going to replace the wires with stainless ones when I can be bothered as a pre emptive strike. The driver's window has already gone before I bought it but others work 100%. Better safe than sorry though. Naturally I shall grease everything up in the process and silicone grease the rubbers. Oo-er missus..

I suggest you dispatch war rocket Ajax to bring back the designer's body alive for further interrogation...

My sunroof had the same kind of issues at the weekend - the sprout opened it whilst on the M5 and then it wouldn't close so we had a windy journey to Devon. Anyway, I gave it a healthy dose of vaseline and manually moved it a few times and it seems to have loosened off. Will continue to use it regularly from now on.

Yes well worth the effort but clear silicone grease as the monkey said on last post is much better than vasoline, gunna do both my window internal runners come the better weather :)
