Hello,

About to order this

https://yrmit.co.uk/product/hdg-2-3...nt-bracket-lr-defender/?attribute_fixings=Yes

To repair where the seat belt mounts are in contact with the tub.

Question is, if i bolt on that part would i also need this part

https://yrmit.co.uk/product/2-or-3-door-front-of-rear-tub-repair-lr-defender/

As that bit is corroded too - much worse than the example on YRM.

Or because the first part covers the bottom of this section - would that be ok?

Thanks in advanced.

Could do with a bigger picture, can;t really see what's going on there. But from what i can see I'd say you could probably patch that without needing a YRM part - although they do help make everything look nice.

It looks similar to series 3 I thought the heavy duty fixing for seat belt is under the tub onto the chassis, if you want to hide the corrosion a small riveted patch would suffice , but if you buy the large panel would the old one need to be removed or would you just fix on top of old
Personally if it’s secure and hidden behind seat I wouldn’t worry

The short answer is no. The second panel, that goes on the top, is largely decorative. However, it's a canny bit of work putting the galvanised seat belt mounting panel, so you might as well put the top panel in while you're on. It'll make a far neater job.
If you don't, depending on how bad the corrosion is, you might have to patch it. Might as well use the top panel to avoid a messy patch.

Yeah below the Tub is the heavy duty steel bracket - Its where its in contact with the tub that's corroded.

I thought about a nice shiny piece of metal across would look good - the seatbox is currently removed anyway, so easy job.

As its behind the seat though, i think i might just rivit in a piece of metal.

You could also insulate between the steel and ally with some plastic to stop further corrosion as it’s accesible

Up to you, but the YRM repair panel is only £19.00
