My rear tailgate window seems to open on its own accord I have now twice returned to car to find rear glass fully open can anyone give me a clue as to what may be the problem

It's a pretty well documented fault! When mine was doing it, it turned out to be a wire chafed through and shorting! Do a search or even just google it and you'll find loads of info.
