Air bags came this morning. I got then from Island 4x4 thanks to a recommendation on a similar thread. Wish I'd held back for the post from aviator and saved myself £20 but that's life! As with everything, it's never what you know that causes the problems. I followed the excellent instructions and pictures in the thread 'Disco air suspension - the definitive guide' from Battenburg. My first problem was getting the wheel off! The wheel brace wouldn't go onto one of the nuts properly so I couldn't loosen it. In the end I filed the flats down a little with a dremel. Next issue was the cover for the compressor. I didn't have a twenty pence piece as suggested but tried a 20 cent Euro instead. Maybe I should have stuck with English coinage because the screws wouldn't budge. Eventually I found a little stubby screwdriver which worked fine. Getting new clips was very sensible since mine disintegrated as I removed them. I loosened the pipes on the compressor rather than took them off since I didn't want to risk cross threading them when putting them back. I had to squeeze the bags a little to get them to deflate enough to dislodge them but otherwise this worked fine. Installed the new ones with no problems and replaced the wheels - I put axle stands under the chassis and did both wheels at the same time. Tightened the pipes on the compressor and started the engine but air bags didn't inflate. Tried jacking the wheels up but nothing. In the end I pushed the raise suspension button on the dash and it worked! Checked around with soapy water and couldn't find any leaks so took it for a test run. Everything still OK. It's now been stood for just over an hour and all seem well! I'll reserve any euphoria for a day or to to make sure but it looks good at the moment. Thanks to all who offered advice and instruction - nothing better than the feeling you get when you've tackled a job you thought needed a specialist muckenic and triumphed, pocketing the money saved in labour. Thanks again
