Bit of advice required.

Stripped down rear hub to do inner oil seal and here's what the stub axle looks like.

Should I replace stub axle?

Wheel bearings are fine and correct me if I'm wrong but the badly pitted area on the stub does not come in contact with bearings?

no they dont ,but area were outer bearing does sit is worn ,id fit a new stub and bearings make sure you get seal collar to

Thanks for that... Question about the distance piece...
I did a few searches and it was mentioned that to have a snug fit it is best to heat it in the oven, fit and allow to cool to ensure a tight fit?? Problem I have is my Landrover is in a lock-up away from home with no power, I use a small generator for lights but not sure how I would get round fitting this piece.
Any suggestions?

do them the same as a halfshaft sleve, heat them up with oxy acet torch or mapp gas blowtorch, bit of oil on the stub, and drop it on , yer might need a tube to tap it on if its a problem, have it to hand any way. or press them on :)
