Having a problem with fitting the new T cork seals as part of the rear crankshaft oil seal, the new T corks seem far to big for the slot, something i have read mentions that you can do away with these corks and just pump silicon sealer up the slot, or was i dreaming lol

you can but fill the slots up first then fit the cap then pump more in
 
I've recently done this job. (Yeah I can contribute!)

If you follow the instructions in the Green Book and fit the cork seals with silicone grease it all comes good. Honest gov!

They do look too big but with a bit of lubrication (as is often the way) they slide in nicely
 
Silicone grease and a couple of feeler gauges works for me. Most cranks are now well worn on the seal area so good luck with getting one to seal well, I have done a few and most gave up and started to leak after 8 or 10 thousand miles. A mate did one that never made it to the end of his drive before leaking.
