If you have retainers on top & bottom off the springs will this affect the droop of the axle when off roading?
(Dislocation cones ;)?)

Gwyn Lewis units allow full drop [articulation] and then relocation...https://gwynlewis4x4.co.uk/product/rear-90-disco1-rrc-spring-re-locators-hooked-gl1064/

So I think I’ve narrowed my choice down to these based on price;
Britpart Basics at £20 each
Britpart Cellular Dynamic at £42 each
Britpart SuperGaz at £35 each
Billstein £36 each
Terrafirma TF117 at £36 each

it’s still a long list - does anyone have any other comments about any of these?
Cheers
britpart basics get my vote. As i said earlier I had them fitted for several years and they performed well, managed trip around morocco with no issues and covered a lot of miles in the time they were fitted. I replaced them with OEM shocks before a second trip to morocco not because they needed replacing but I was renewing the whole suspension (springs, bushes etc). Cant say I noticed much difference between the handling before and after the renewal so everything was probably fine but it was more preventative than requirement. I didn't fancy a broken spring in the dessert..

To add to the mix, I installed standard spring [rates & height] with standard rate Terrafirma dampers +SuperPro bushes all round + some Gwyn Lewis HD components. The ride and function both on road and off road is very good. Bed-in the all new suspension components on trip to Alpes and back. They all performed as designed and the 90 has excellent ride on road, this when empty or carrying 350+kg/heavy loads in the back.

Have heard Terrafirma units getting rusty, have yet to experience this and will keep an eye on the dampers.

Here some suspension porn...

i am a fan of the super pro polybushes, much better than the cheaper yellow BP ones etc

That all looks far to clean to be a Land rover!

Guilty as charged, m'Lud. Have previously mentioned my vehicle cleanliness OCD...all vehicles get a through underbody wash, scrub up, re-wax and joints-a-greasing a couple of times a year. Been like this since 1989 when I bought the first 911 o_O But it makes for comfortably clean working when tinkering underneath, no crud and **** falling into the eyes, hair, down sleeves and I find I can quickly treat any areas that show first signs of rust. The clean up includes engine, transmission and diffs'...plus, when it comes to selling a car they sell very quickly when the underside's as good as the topside. And can charge top dollar too... ;)

Iv had the disco arm on for years now just not had the RTC shock on.thinks I may buy this kit. Saves making stuff.

Hi @Hicap phill , it's interesting, spec'ing the front end had heard/read the many stories of dreaded death wobble and others steering issues. This lead me to think carefully about the front end components. The OME damper always rx'd first rate reviews. No gas damper harshness, just good old fashioned oil damping with oversized piston/damper to properly absorb steering. Then discovered Gwyn Lewis components - here I wanted to upgrade to HD components all round for robustness and longevity. Spoke to Gwyn, read the reviews and bought the kit. Then added/fitted the SuperPro bushes all round [have been using these for years/they're on all the cars]. Combined the components are very effective + had my local ATS man set up the geometry to within a nat's cock of a degree - he spent 2.5hrs setting up the front end [!] Even with the Discover's the 90 drives as straight as an arrow, there's little adjustment needed from the steering wheel and the front end is very 'planted'.
