i'm pretty sure rear shock bushes have a tube though them, but not on poly bushes.
does that answer ya question?

When I changed the shock's/bushes the metal inner tube was rusted onto the mount, ended up cutting it off. The rubber bush's that came with the shocks had the tube pre-fitted to them. Hope that help's...

so can you buy the tubes seperate as mine are proper jammed in the old bushes even tried cutting them out after cuting a cm of bush away i still couldnt peel it off the old bush and the new ones had none

As the man says, it depends on the type of bush. Bush must be a snug fit on the bolt, so if there is play, yes you need a metal tube. However I doubt that's the case as the tubes are normally an integral part of the bush. They only come apart when they are old and knackered. Rubber bushes are normally black. I've never had polybushes but I thought they were coloured.
Bottom line is, if it's a rubber bush it should be the same construction as the ones that came off.

On polybushes tbe tubes are supplied separate - if it is missing - tgey may well have forgotten to send it. Check with supplier.

wonder if the bush's i took off wernt the right ones in the first place, i got the new ones from paddocks, but have looked on ebay n the picture they show aint got no tube through either except as you say on the poly bush's which i wish id bought now would have saved me all this confusion anyway..ive fitted both sides with no tube so im hoping they will be ok now

So long as there's no play there shouldn't be a problem, but you might find they wear quicker. At least they'll be easier to get off! Btw I tnink the technical term for sleeved bushes is "silent block". Someone will probably prove me wrong though. :)
