I have but will soon be puting new one under bonnet were I can get at it .has anyone done away with this as i think its causing me more problems
The only time a sedimentor should give you problems is if it's having to do a lot of what it's designed to do....... in which case it's a REALLY bad idea to remove it
id remove it ,aliminum housing fastened to steel chassis is not the best idea ,fuel filter has a drain on it ,
Not true, the sedimentor casing goes porous, this allows the fuel lines to suck in air. I had massive problems with my 300TDi due to air in the fuel, I went through everything and it wasn't until I bypassed the sedimentor that I cured these issues. It ran fine without it, I'm not too sure why its there, the defenders dont have them and its the same engine...
