I have a discovery 300tdi and i have a problem with the rear prop rubber keeps splitting i have done 2 in about 1800 miles any ideas why or wot i can do to stop this. i also have a 2" lift on it dont know if that is the problem.

Are you bolting it on in the right position.? I seem to remember having issues with them If you bolt them on either backwards or a hole in either direction wrong. Hope this makes sense.

ye there is clear marks on witch way to put it. i like the sound of 200tdi prop convershon i take the flange splines are the same as the 200 on the 300 so i dont have to change axles or diffs?

You'll need to change the diff flange itself as the donuts are 3-bolt, 200 props are 4-bolt.
Definitely the way forward. With the exception of routine greasing - it's a fit & forget fix.

Do the conversion, will save you alot of time and hassle, I have got all the parts you need sitting on my 300 out back, if your interested PM me...

I wonder what you are doing to have this problem, my RRC had the rubber cupling and was still working fine on the original when I sold the vehicle it after 110,000mls and ten years of ownership.

My disco isn't fitted with one they weren't on the later V8 D1s and I haven't noticed any difference in the transmission from the old RR days.

I think that goes for the owners of diesels who have done the prop/flange conversion they haven't notice any difference, no need to go as far back as the 200 series look for the last of 300 series V8s for you replacement parts, the prop UJs could be in better condition. :)

just fitted a 200 rear proper on mine. Alot better however you will need a 10mm spacer that sits inbtween the diff bearing and the drive flange. i got mine out a front 300 diff.
