The current forward facing exmoor trim seats are about £140 but DONT lock to the floor, thus requiring passenger body weight to hold down. They are currently sorting one that will lock in place but keep telling me end of March for realease. Maybe phone them and express an interest!!

As ever in good old GB Karlos, officially yes, and if the unfortunate happened you'd be in the brown smelly stuff - practically I do the same as you - but that's not a recommendation!
I have a SWB 90 with just the 3 seats up front, I've carried people (short distances) sitting on the wheel arches - but felt 'naughty' all the way

I fitted a plate to the floor at the front of the seats so I can use a ratchet strap to keep the seats folded down.
I would do this but swmbo won't let me do that...she (in her wisdom and knowledge of such things) says they are not safe.

I can appreciate the concern - we've got two little ones and I certainly wouldn't want to put them at risk. But seriously, the seats are rock solid when folded out and strapped down. If you were nearer I'd say come and have a look!

Yeh, they arnt the safest of things, and I dislike useing them, but needs must. I need the space in the back and dont have much money!
How come I'd be in the brown stuff? If they haven't put laws inn place to stipulate rear seating, they can't expect us to adhere to one!

the rear seating law is a nightmare, i had to tell my insurance company about the rear seat so that cost me extra was only about £30.
The law you really have to go by is the one regarding fitting the booster seats, I know baby seats are frear facing but hacve to be fitted to a forward facing seat hmmm ... i know load of crap and they do say there is less damage caused in an accident if your in a rear facing seat.
When my son was young i went for the 110 csw so i could have him in a proper seat,
I know what you mean we are all on a budget of some type, safest thing in my opinion is have the wee one in the forward facing seat(front seat) and the mrs in the back but i woundt have fancied my preg mrs in the back, Before i got rid of my 110csw i got a second car to do away with this dilema, then i bought a 90 oh and changed second cars.

The Brown stuff Karlos because there's always the possibilitity of the insurer refusing to pay out in an accident if there are modificaitons they weren't aware of - any old excuse to avoid paying!

Absolutely agree Karlos - I intend fitting a single front facing rear seat. Might mention it if I change insurer, but not otherwise.
Wouldn't however want to advise that to someone else as 'best practice'

Had to put my tuppence in. If the lap belt is seated properly below the bump, it's eminently safer for the pregnant lady to wear a seatbelt (ideally a 3 pointer).
To put it bluntly, the baby isn't gonna survive without it's mum. I've seen too many dead on the roads not to advise that. In one case mum survived without belt, but steering wheel impact did for child.

As requested, here's some pics of my Exmoor Trim rear seats.
The front anchor point - a tie-down strap around the seats means there's no way the leg can fold up.
The rear anchor point for the seatbelts.
And with both seats folded up over the wheelboxes, the load area can still be used.
