The rear passenger door will not open now, can it be opened from the inside
if you remove the hand and pull the cable or what can the problem be.

Does the rear window drop? is the window motor working?...check with the internal switch.

Just had this problem occur as well on both read passenger doors. Will try suggestion on link above & see if that works.
Thanks

Just on the subject of locks, the tailgate window sometimes will not go up
when you close it, is the handle work electrical and can it be oiled to sort it.
just the wife finds it a bit of a nuisance and i would be afraid of it failing at some point.

Do a search for "Freelander tailgate glass" - lots of threads about :)

I took the inside door card of and opened the door, oiled it and opened and closed it
no bother. locked it and unlocked it and will not open , looks like a new lock then.

When i got the car at the start of dec, the door would open with the key fob
and then it would be difficult to open from both side,s. then it would not open at
all until i removed the door card and opened it. i oiled the lock and open and closed the door several times from both side,s no problem. i put all back together and locked the car and opened it again, the door would not open at all.
after a few days the door opens now with no problems at the moment.
all very strange, but it could be electrical problem with the lock and i not sure
what the exact problem is, sorry i am not much help to you on this one mate.
all i can say is oil it for now and see if that helps.

Whilst this is an old thread it was a godsend for me - thanks all! Just half a day before my MOT the rear near side door on my Freelander 1 51 plate stuck solid, guaranteeing a fail. Luckily for me the great advice here saved the day, just wish I had read the child lock advice before removing the door card and spending a fruitless hours caging my hands on metalwork :) simple fix in the end - slide a knife between the seal and door to flick the child lock open then fit a screw to stop the lever sliding half way to the locked position. So glad I joined this forum!
