I am having a problem with reversing lights on my 1995 Disco Mk 1 V8i Automatic LPG

One of the previous owners has fitted a triple NAS rear light cluster and appears to have attempted to fit a reversing camera and has messed up the original wiring. The upper rear cluster was not wired correctly but I have fixed that and now have brake lights, indicators and rear fog working correctly in that cluster. BUT I don’t have any reversing lamps

In the bumper the rear side lights are working OK but that leaves me with another one that was previously working in tandem with the upper indicator. I have disconnected indicator connection and intend to change this to a clear lamp and wire it as a reversing light.

The problem is because of all the arseing around with the wiring I can’t find the correct wire to connect to.

Can anyone help or at least advise me what the original arrangement of lights was in a 1995 Disco?

Since I can’t get a connection to the reversing lights is there an easy way of checking the reversing light switch in the starting inhibitor without actually taking it out i.e. some known point where I can check the circuit.

Mystery light on fascia - Can anyone tell me what the function of the lamp next to mirror control is? I can’t find any mention of it in the Drivers Manual or Haynes and have never seen it illuminate

Thanks

Original arrangement of lights in 1995 depends on the discos model year as this was the year of a change over, see pic below 96MY is on the right nad 95MY on the left, also bumper lamps are different.

The wiring continues from the reverse switch to the lamp, so if no power at the lamp then you must go back and look at the switch. The fuse is no.14 and is shared with the clock so if that work the fuse is ok.

Mystery light on fascia ? who knows, it's no-standard so ask the person who fitted it. :D

It was linked back to supplemetary reversing lights and reversing camera. No apparent connection between it and the lamp in question but the set up didn't work anyway so who knows?

Since I started looking in around the back of the dash - see my post re aerials - I have discovered a lot of weird stuff with no apparent function that has been literally buried behind the dash One find was a keyed switch which I think is linked to the LPG fuel indicator but I'll do a bit more digging around before I bother anyone about it.

My best guess would be that its some kind of indicator as to the fuel being used or a warning of level ....or something along those lines ....next !

indicator of whether its running on petrol or LPG or that the LPG is low , I said ......errrr, so ALL LEDs do that do they ? I'll be replacing my dash with my LED torch then
