i'm wondering if any of you knowledgeable people know where i can buy a rear ladder for a p38?

They are available, but they go on the rear quarter and not the rear for obvious reasons

Looks like they do do a rear ladder...I stand corrected

There was a very nice guy in the USA fabricating a ladder under license or at least with permission of the Safety Devices ladder,

SD ladders, taking deposits.

I was looking at getting one but I also wanted to fit the rear spoiler from the later model RR, but have found a seller on ebay for these,

Thats afew jobs down the list though, And I'm not sure If it would fit once the spoiler was on!!!!

If it was orange with G4 down the side, the ladder would look at home. But I suspect that vehicle has 22" wheels with slithers of rubber for tyres so it is just a show piece.

How did you not know about the rear ladder?

I knew they did one, but I am sure I have seen one mounted on the side at the rear quarter not on the tailgate before - so I stood and continue to stand corrected - there is one that fits on the rear!!

TBH, on the side makes more sense. Would you want to climb up your tailgate? It'd probably snap off.

Looks like you'd need another ladder just to get on this ladder:D:D:D

Dun be silly, can't you see the gaffertape on the bumper? I hope they have a reinforcing plate behind the bumper though, otherwise you're in for a bad time. Unless you have to drop the tailgate, close the glass and climb up that way.

Ah yes that'll be it. I missed the bespoke tread plate on the bumper. And it explains the lens protectors (my steel toecaps would've smashed the light otherwise). Maybe its got high power gas struts on the tailgate that lift you up when youv'e managed to get on the ladder.
Or maybe he'd be better off with a bit of rope (yellow of course) tied to the roof rack.:bounce:

At this rate they might as well fit a tailgate lift. That way they can get to the roof with ease. Plus it'd make a nice shelter when the weather turns.

So no one in the uk that anyone knows of?..

I'll email 996turbo chappy - that's him with the proper off road p38 with rrevolution down the side isn't it..

I've never really understood why off road stuff for the p38 isn't available, discovery 1 & 2 stuff can be got anywhere, there must be a market for range rover accessories..

Shouldn't this be moved to the Joke fred?? :boink: :p :D :D

That'll have been me then..

Was I towing a defender at the time?..:D

Range rovers seem to have a pretty poor reputation on here, p38s in particular. I must've been exceedingly lucky that in all the years I've had range rovers, from a 1995 p38 to a 2011 l322 I've never had any major problems, most problems are caused by poor (or lack of) maintainence.. Put a set of general grabber at tyres on a p38 and it will go virtually anywhere you need it to.

Even my later rr gets dirty in the fields and to be honest, you don't see many land rovers in muddy fields full stop. Plenty of Japanese four wheel drives though..

So now I've amused you further - do you know where I can purchase a rear ladder for a p38, preferably from the uk?..:p
