Hi All,
My rear High 3rd Brake light is not working, I have changed the bulb Obviously and still no joy is this a common issue on defenders as my MOT station won't pass it not working and my 10 days for a re test is drawing closer.
Any help ideas or experience welcomed thanks and Merry Xmas!

I guess trace the wire, presumably somewhere it meets the other brake lights and if they're working, then maybe the wire's come loose?

Curious, Could you remove the break light for the MOT? My land rover doesn't have a high level light, so it could be one of those "if it's not fitted, it doesn't get tested" things....

Check the contacts where the bulb meets its socket. Could be corroded. Otherwise it's down to getting the voltmeter out and testing/tracing!
Is it just a brake light? Or is it a tail/brake combo?

High level brake lamp wires in rear glass like heated window?
Common for corrosion, undo wire where it appears through door card and check voltage with brake on
If ok I Wud run a wire up to lamp unit
Follow the rubber for glass and u can carefully tuck the wire behind the rubber to conceal
Good cheap fix

Common problem, my light failed about 12 months after a few of the heating elements failed, was advised its not an MOT failure... in the end the glass got accidentally damaged so a new window was installed.
