Well, while I'm on about me leaks, I thougt I might as well post this.

I have the typical oil leak on my n/s/r hub, as per below picture:

The joys.

Obviously it's a seal that's gone (I've cleared my breathers to no avail).

I've had a gander on Paddocks site, but can't work out which seal it is...there seems to be three!

Paddock Spares - Hub Oil Seal - twin lip type - OEM

Paddock Spares - Hub seal- OE Manufacturer

Paddock Spares - Outer hub seal - - OE Manufacturer

It's a 1989 90 if that helps at all? I've been sat trying to wokk it out most of the Evening. Is it a case of stripping the lot down to see which it is? :(

Argh...I was hoping that wasn't going to be the answer lol

Early morning for me then. Gotta get to Paddocks before 12

Ah ok...sounds like I'll have to strip it down then...more wokk haha.

Thanks Buster & Lee - much appreciated!

Just outta interest, rear diff (I've got too many leaks), once I take the split pin out, undo the nut and remove the flange etc, should the shaft have up, down, left, right movement in it?

If this is the rear diff pinion seal, mine has a small amount of left/right up/down movement with the seal in place (about 2 - 3 mm), and with the seal out it has a lot of movement - think that's about normal, as its torquing up the flange bolt that secures it in place

By the way did my pinion seal 3 weeks back - hardest part was getting the old seal out - tried the old drill 2 holes, insert self tapers game and it weren't budging

Ended up having to (carefully) hack out the front of the seal with a small flat screwdriver, and then (even more carefully) collapse in one side before it would come free - right bugger!

Hope yours is easier!

shat is supported by 2 taper brgs so once nut is undone could have quite a bit of movement ,but must not have any once tight

SH-Yeah, I know exactly what you mean about getting the old seal out. Trying not to damage anything and remove it, is a pain!

James - thanks...no movement went nut is tight...just worried me slightly thinking bearings had gone!
