Pls. Assist In This Matter ! Have Tried To Unlock My Rear Door(3-door Freelander) With The Key And The Remote Control But All In Vain. How Do I Now Go About Opening It ? Even The Locksmith Could Not Get It Open . Pls Advise.

Hi, I had the same problem a few months back and it turned out to be the solenoid, i picked one up from a breakers for £10. Just remove the plastic panel so you can get at the lock and take out the old one and replace, really easy job. Hope this helps

Thanks For The Responses, But How Do I Get To The Screws/nuts That Hold The Panel, Because They Are Located Underneath The Very Door That Does Not Open ?

Here comes the tricky bit.. the screws that are holding the panel are right at the very bottom but you can get to them if you have a small Philips screw driver and it helps if you open the lockable boot storage as that helps you get a better angle to them. The top part of the panel just snaps off so to speak. Once you have removed the panel the solenoid is attached to the right hand side it's a white box around 4" long by 1" wide. before you attempt to remove it move it around a bit to see if you can make it work cos if you can it will make removing it alot easier because it's attached to the rear door via some screws are located on the door inner side how you will undo these if you can't get it working again is beyond me! I was lucky and the solenoid worked so I could open the door and replace. Good luck

Hi I just took my rear panel off, open the rear door- undo the four screws at the bottom edge then carfully one at a time pop the panel out. It's held on with those plastic fastener things. Then lift the bottom edge out and up- it is held on the top edge by a seris of hooks which you'll be able to see when the panel is lifted.
