Having taken the non functioning wiper motor off of my Disco 2 and found the internals to be somewhat seized and messed up I'm looking for a replacement. Does a wiper motor from a Disco 1 fit a Disco 2?
The only reason I ask is Disco 2 wipers seem to be thin of the ground around here.

The one used on the latest D1s, AMR3872 fits but this is actually the D2 motor as well with superceded p/n DBL101640, it has to be like this

I thought I'd heard something about them fitting but I guess I'll have to try and track down a D2 example for not silly money.
Thanks anyway.

It is possible, if you have a couple of hours spare, to strip it down and free it off.
I bought a "tested" one from ebay a while ago, it was seized solid, thought the gears looked like they had also stripped but the teeth on the plastic gear wheel are quite shallow, so they look like they have worn down.
So I dismantled it, incl the motor, un-seized it, refaced the commutator and brushes using fine emery paper and its been working a treat ever since.

The door card is off and the motor in pieces. Unfortunately the main plastic gear has had it along with some of the other internals so a replacement is needed.
Mot Friday so I'm just waiting to see what else is wrong with it.

Rear wiper isn't part of the mot test, So don't need to worry about that, unless you mean waiting to see what left in the bank after any mot repairs before you start repairing less important parts.

That's the one. I spoke to the guy doing the test this morning so I know I don't need to worry about the wiper or spare tyre. I do have another spare, two in fact but I have some doubts about the front tyres so I'm saving those for the test as well.
