The speakers in my rear door dont work at all not even a thud when the ignition is turned on. Having done a search I am still non the wiser, it is the original radio in my 1995 V8 so can discount an after market head. I have checked the main plug into the amp and have got power on the pinkish wire, other than that I'm stumped. Is it common for the amps to fail ? Is this the most likely thing? Thanks.

Have read that thanks, as I said it is all original so could it just be the amp that has given up?

If you have done all your power/audio checks at the amp and they are ok then you have the inputs but no output so yes it's either the two loudspeakers or the amp.

Got a second hand amp and speakers from a local breaker and now have sound from the rear door speakers, but they are not as loud as the 4 other speakers is this normal ? Looking at some of the threads the rear door speakers look like they may only be there for the base, is that correct?

Thanks, not that clued up on speakers, what are sub woofers ? and should they be as loud as the other speakers? Cheers.
