Hi i have just replaced the small spring in the lock on the rear door of my Discovery 300tdi.
After putting it all back together the door will no longer lock using the remote central locking.
When i press the button on the key fob you can see the lock button on the door go down but then straight away pop back up again.
If i press the button down manually from inside the car it locks no problem.
Unlocking it works as it should.
Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.

You have probably not fitted the rods correctly, or one is out of adjustment ( if that door has an adjustment rod ) . From memory , they can be finicky if not refitted exactly as they came off.

Just a case of getting in there and playing with it.

Ok thanks, i'm sure I fitted all the rods back exactly as they came off.
Will take the door card off again tomorrow and recheck in the daylight.

I am sure I had on one an old D1, that i fitted "exactly as it came off"..............Darn thing did the same, I cannot remember if there was a double threaded adjustment section in it or I bent it to make it work. Could even be a case of making sure it is bolted back in exactly the same place.

As said they can be finicky things, they can either go very easily , esp those little springs OR they put up a hell of a fight. Not my favourite job....LOL

Just re-adjust the actuator. Slacken the the four screws on the actuators mounting plate, and move it very slightly while each time unlocking and locking with the fob until both those functions are correct then tighten the four screws... job done.
