Hello,

Need some help with my rear door latch. I have a 2003 Defender 90 which started as a little pick up truck in Italy... When I bought it two years ago I had it converted to a full cab and was told the rear door was from a 2002. The Door latch didn't work properly so I bought a replacement P/N:FQJ500340.C8 and it has a larger hole for the key barrel.. apparently there are two sizes. I bought a key and barrel P/N:CWC500190.C8
It fits in the hole but doesn't seem to lock the latch.... Is there a specific way to put them in? Has anyone bought that latch and know if there is a specific key barrel it needs? HELP, tired of locking my truck with a ratchet strap!!!

Being a "bitsa" it's likely to be one of those things you'd need to have in front of you before you could offer advice on how to fix it.

For instance
l am sure l could help you get it working but l would need to be looking at it.

Does the door lock from the inside when using the lever. If not the door isn’t closing into the latch far enough, so move latch outwards. Reference the lock barrel, it has a little sprung pin on the rear, that needs to locate in a corresponding hole in the lock hole.

Hi, I read your post and looked at videos online too. Having just bought a second hand one piece door, it has a door lock with lightening holes in the outer door handle. the lock looks like those that Bearmach used to sell.
Sadly, it has no pin hole in the barrel.

Does anyone know how to get the lock out?
dont want to smash it s the central locking works, I just dont have a key.

Whilst looking for a screw, this one is newer so doesnt have one, I found a pin hole.
Unlike some others, this one is on the barrel but inside the lock.
Thanks ;-)

Thats save a lot of money!
