One of the back door hinges on my 200tdi broke at the weekend.

Has any one replaced these before?

the top one has five bolts - two in the door and three in the pillar. The bottom has five bolts and two rivets in the door. Make sure you disconnect the check strap first if your going to remove the door.

Is it a resonable job to do? I asume the rivets are large ones, how do you go about replacing them, I have only ever done ones up to 5mm?

FFS m8, Rivets are rivets .... have you ever considered getting up off your arse and going to have a look oris it too feckin easy to get someone else to do it for you?

Go out, have a look at it. If you cant find the rivets, take the Disco to a main dealer.

Thanks for the chearfull responce, I struggled to shut the door when it broke so I don't want to open it just to have a look to find I cant shut the door again becuse I have broken the other one too, then I will be left with a rear end convertable.

bought the hinges today, spoke to the service department about it, they seemed to laugh alot about changing them as it is a very heavy job!
