Problem though is that I would need to get sides off again in order to put seals on and it was a worrying experience first time around !
 
Still think a washer between tub and side panel on the bolt nearest the door [slacken all other bolts on that panel first] would sort it,a two to three mm washer would tilt the panel five at the top.Check corner fitting is seated right.

I know what you mean, mine has side windows in and the glass is 5mm thick. Heavy as hell and cumbersome! I had visions of mine 'doing the splits' when lifting it on!
 
tottot I agree this would help , however the bolt on the long thread has been loosened and tub is too heavy to lift in one corner , the only way round this I think is to split a washer and work it around the bolt as , there is a bracket wher door meets tub on hinge side and that is very difficult to get to , Ill have another look later , at moment im redrilling holes for seatbelt bracket because they were way out. , all other holes between roof and sides lined up perfectly

Have you got the right hinge parts some of the pieces look a different length.
Maybe who ever fitted original / or hardtop used the wrong part
