Because I haven't had the opportunity to try FL1 when it was new, it would be interesting to learn how the rear door operated when the gas strut was new? When I bought mine 280 tkm driven 2004 FL1 the strut was extremely stiff. I have lubricated it often and now it's better but still I have to push the rear door open. It also stays open thanks to the strut but should it actually push the door open itself? Have you replaced the original strut?

New gas strut ordered. Luckily our local parts shop had it in inventory, no need to order from UK and pay taxes and customs.

That was my thoughts also first 😁

Let's see what a new strut does. It was only like 20€.
It'll be interesting to see your experience.

Might invest in one myself.

Mind you by the sounds of it, your doors and struts might be frozen solid at the moment.

I was chatting to a fella this morning who had come to the end of his holiday here in NZ's, mid 20's, summer and he's off home to Oslo and temperatures 55 degrees colder!

You are right, it's -25 celcius here currently, been like this for a week already. But that rear door has been like that regardless of the temperature. Other doors work perfectly, I'm using teflon spray for door hinges.
