i was wanting to change the rear drive going in to the diff on my 300tdi. i want t run a 200tdi prop shaft to get rid of the rubber drive coupleing. i under stand that there are two different diffs with different spline numbers. i was wondering if there is a way to tell wich diff i have without removing it and what is the spline count i need to put in the 200 drive. cheers

number of splines would only effect the half shafts rather than the prop I would have thought but I might be wrong. your 300 diff should be a 24 spline one but as for which prop you would need I have no idea. Just go to main stealer for the rubber donut as the cheep aftermarket ones are less than great

300's have 24 spline diffs but as inferno says, that only affects the half shafts. You need to get a new flange kit, paddocks do them, comes with new seal. Easy job, 30mins max.

The centralising pin is not an easy job. I am tearing what's left of my hair out on this. It is rooted into the flange.
