Slight weep on rear diff oil (front/pinion/prop) seal... want to replace before it gets worse.

Rave says to remove driveshafts to do this....seems a very long way round and unneccesary disturbance of perfectly good/servicable/working parts. (if it aint broke and all that)

Any advice...???

Cheers

still have my seals to do, the pinion should come out without the need for the driveshafts to be removed. If it ever stops raining I'll get round to it.

Part no - pinion FTC 5258

Driveshaft seal TOC1000000

are these parts Land rover dealership only? dont you need the plastic crush washer too?

yes mate, sorted very easy, just tie prop out of the way...no need to remove, remainder straight forward, main stealer only for parts, cant remember crush washer, total job30 min

went in just by hand...did spend some time sortin press out in case and best fit is base of tin of beans/peas ;-)

Cool will maybe give it a go tomorrow, Thanks again.

O just one more thing, did you have the special tool to hold the pinion flange to undo the bolt, or did you just let it lock against the diff gears and undid it that way.
