right, so like many on here that have a freelander 1 i bet your rear centre brake light bracket assembly has all gone flaky and is revealing a horrible, crusty aluminium side. i was just wondering what the best option is here? been doing some searching online with regards to painting the bracket with spray paint. best option is like most to start a fresh. strip the paint off back to bare aluminium with paint stripper like nitromors, primer it up with special aluminium primer then a couple of coats of paint, matt black i'm thinking??
what you lot reckon?

I would just strip it and coat with a good primer and spray paint ,they all do it in time

Like he said.......Strip it, rub the chalky corrosion down with wire wool, primer and matt or satin black aerosol to finish.

Tried that with mine and it went all horrible on me.

got peed of and coated it in hammerite looks ok actually surprised. second time round i did it left on the car.

Tried doing it properly to strip it all back. but the first spray paint i used reacted. in the end used hammerite and brushed it on. will post a picture tomorrow if i can of my bodge job.

Mine needs doing as well, both my mirror casings have a lot of chips on them, will do them all together at some time.
