Hi guys, recently I had my mechanic clean up the rear brake shoes and drums and fit new hand brake cables, what I'm finding now is that quite often after the car has been parked for a few hours when I release the hand brake to pull away the rear brakes are binding and I have to use reverse then forward motion to release them, before I take it back any clues as to what's causing this?
Cheers.

Hi. I think I have read a post about this before. I think it mentioned the rear brake shoes sticking to the backplate and I think the solution was some copper grease on the back plate to stop them sticking. If you search rear brakes sticking on you should find the post. Clive

Did mine yesterday. There are 5 (I think, can't remember) raised bits on the backplate that need to be coated in coppergrease.
