Just stripping an N reg Discovery for the engine and axles for my N reg Defender but the rear axle on the disco is different. Will it fit and is it worth it?

Heres the Disco one, the Defender has a uj at the diff end of the drive shaft

Yes, the Disco has a 3 bolt flange and a donut, the Defender has a 4 bolt flange and a UJ.

Is a common modification. If you do a search , I am sure it will yield results galore.

Cheers

I'll look later for more info, but pusshed for time at tho mo trying to get it stripped.

Will the props work on a 90 or are they the wrong length

Yeah, the axle fits ..

The Defender props fit, but the Disco diff (three point) flange needs changing to a Defender four hole diff flange, or a Disco 200 (four bolt) diff flange .. :)

Riich you need to take the four bolt flange off your old rear axel and swop it with the 3 flange on the Disco. To remove the spigot you need a bolt that fits inside the threaded centre , some washers and a socket to use as a puller. You will then use the prop shafts off your old 90

Thanks. But if I remove the spiggot will that not upset the end float of the pinion?

I'm talking about the spigot in the middle of the donut and covers the bolt holding the flange, as in the bit Marmaduke has cut off

@Riich

Have you done any homework on this modification before you started this job?

If you look at Rave, you will see nice detailed pictures of how this assy works, and also how to disassemble it.

Cheers
