I lifted my Disco 2" just over a year ago and the only negative thing that has happened is the rear anti-roll bushes as shown here.

(Click on the pice to enlarge them)

My choices were to get rid of the bar as some others have done, or to sort the problem. I did not really want to remove the bar so I choose to fix it. I had read somewhere that you need to make 2" spacers to lower the bar.

Here is what I made.
2 bits of 2" steel box section 5" long drilled to suit the mounting on the chassis.

I fitted it all back with new polybushes, I also replaced the drop links as well as they had seen better days.

It took me just over 2 hours to do.

i did same with mine....

and still ripped the arb mount off the chassis..... lol....

nice job though....

get rid , waste of time and effort.... why have a lift , if your running anti roll bars.

+ another

The point of a lift is to get over obstacles and increase articulation movement. The point of ARB's is not .... the two things are counter-active to each other so in actualy fact you just create a bit of an abortion.

Whilst it might feel better on road, you'd be way better not bothering with the lift at all, setting ARB's back to standard and getting larger diameter tyres, far less of a compromise than that work-around, IMHO.

My Disco has just failed the mot due to not having it's rear arb fitted. I took it off when fitting 2 inch spring spacers so will now be refitting it with the arb mounts extended thanks to four one inch tow ball spacers from towsure.

Photographs of the fail slip so we can see the wording please. BTW, mine passed a week ago without one - as it has done for years.

I'd also like to see the failure.

Rip it off. You'll barley feel any differenc. If you really want. Twin shock it. Then pull the front one off. Because that gets in the way of the prop... Then it'll feel like it's falling over. But it won't.
