td5 series 2 pulling my hair out here , after a period of motor off road ,finaly got it to pump up suspension only to drive for a couple miles before rear passenger side collapsed , guessed it was bag , so have replaced , now will not pump up for love or money ,, pump running on start up but dosent seem to pump the new bag up , cannot find leak anywhere , have tried to jack to various levels to get sensor working but still wont go up ,,,,, apart from box of matches has anyone got any ideas please ,,, its driving me nuts !!!!!!!!!!
drummerboy .

maybe it needs calibration ... it's hard to fix SLS without tester only by guessing, as you describe the symptom it was rather the sensor fubar'd than the bag... did you disconnect the battery before you worked on it? ...if not calibration is needed anyway so you can't go further without plugging it in

disconnect the battery again and swap the sensors... i have the feeling that the sensor was the fault from the beginning not the bag cos leky bag would make it drop only when stationary not while running unless it's badly blown in which case the compressor should have ran untill the duty cycle was exceeded ... though i doubt you'll have much joy without a tester

have now tried all suggestions to no avail , now awaiting delivery of new sensors , thinking this is more likely the problem , pump seems to be working fine as it is pumping up the other side fine ,,,,:(

unfortunately if the slsbs got more wrong signals from a sensor you might need recalibration anyway... but maybe you are lucky

ok fellas , heres update ,,, new sensor fitted plus airbag , still not having it , have now connected pump direct to spare battery , and its working , disconnected center pipe and it is blowing air ?/ but ??? no air coming from outlet of pump to back nearside , really stuck now , am seriously considering changing to springs as it now all points to pump !! any more ideas would be welcome before i order new spring kit ... thanks drummerboy

as long as the pump blows on the middle pipe it's not that, swap the connectors on the two air supply valves and if the offside will not be opened then it's management issue, if the same side will be blocked with swapped plugs the valve solenoid is gone and it's full of cheap working ones on the SH market... as i said... you dont need springs but a tester to calibrate height cos the air supply valve for the nearside is not opening and untill you dont rule out a lost calibration you can't go further, would be a shame to quit now after you've struggled so much...and you'll regret it

cheers will try again in am , where can i get a calibration test done as cannot move car is it something i can hire ? or is it a expensive visit from landrover mechanic ? Ray.

ok guys thanks for all the helping advice on here , after fitting new bag , which made no difference , fitted new sensor , which made no difference , finaly decided pump had to be the problem , so off it came and bingo solenoid gone to that side of car , found one on a breakers site , finally arrived , re assembled and yep BINGO !!!! car up like air bag was on viagra !! , all working fine so after a bit of effort have cracked it for 30 quid , and now have spare bag and sensors ,, so once again thanks to you guys and especially sieraferry top guy :):)
