When I take the handbrake off I can see movement in the UJ at the end of the rear propshaft so it needs a new one. Is this a job that can be done on the drive. I'm guessing (as I haven't done this before) that it is just a case of undoing 8 bolts. Any gotchas I should be aware of!

Yup, just a case of undoing the eight bolts, be sure to chock your wheels first though (you'll need diff lock to be off to help lining up getting the new prop on).

The UJ change is pretty straight forward, just need some circlips pliers and old socket to use as a drift and an 'ammer, oh and a grease gun. You may want to just replace the propshaft though.

This is good guide for changing UJ's

Also, use good quality UJs if you do replace them - GKN, Bearmach etc. Avoid Britpart for this particular job

Chock it and put it in diff lock, if you don't the hand brake wont work when the rear prop is off and it could roll.

Should add that if you jack the wagon up to get under it then you should put diff lock on and the handbrake, as you can turn the rear wheels to help line up getting the prop on if need be

I'll give it a go then. I believe I only need to lift one wheel to be able to rotate the propshaft. The play is on the UJ on the propshaft side so I'm only going to do the propshaft
